Wax Melts Safety / Instructions
Our wax melts are made to be used in wax melt burners. They are suitable for use in tea light burners and electric burners. You may find that with tealight burners the smell given off is stronger due to the higher heat compared to electric burners. On the other hand using an electric burner you may find you can get more use from individual melts due to the lower temp the bulb / heat plate gives off.
How to use
- Break appropriate size for chosen burner
- Place into burner well. As the well heats up the wax will begin to warm up and melt, releasing beautiful fragrance into your home
- When the tea light has been extinguished or the burner turned off, the wax will re-harden ready for next use
- Unlike candles, wax melts do not evaporate. You can continue to use the wax multiple times, until the scent is gone
- When finished with, the best way to remove wax is when starting to melt you can pop it out of well. Also using loo roll / cotton wool pads to soak up. Dispose of these in bin
Candle Safety / Instructions
- Burn for at least 2 hours to begin with or until the melted wax pool reaches the edges. This will help prevent tunnelling
- Do not burn for longer than 3-4 hours at a time. If within this time your melt pool doesn't reach the edges don't stress. It will catch up on the next burn
- Always burn candle within sight, keep away from drafts, do not burn near flammable items / surfaces, keep away from children and pets, keep away from any vibrating / moving surfaces
- Only burn on heatproof surface or trinket trays to catch dripping wax as can become very hot
- On every new burn make sure to trim the wick to 1/4 of an inch and isn't bent
- Never use water to extinguish flame. A candle snuffer is the perfect tool for this
Important Stuff
- Always use within sight, and never leave unattended
- Always ensure that you do not overfill your well
- Keep melted wax away from pets and children
- Do not eat
- Never pour melted wax down plug holes
- Wax / burner will remain hot after the tea light has been extinguished / burner switched off
- Do not try to move the burner until it has cooled completely and the wax has hardened
- Do not add water or fragrance oils to wax melt well
- Keep wax clear of debris
- Only ever use unscented tea lights as fragranced ones burn too hot
- Only use standard sized 4hr tea lights. Never use the larger 8hr tea lights or multiples as these can cause the burners to break
- Never place burner in freezer to help dislodge wax. This can weaken structure of the burner
- Ensure that the surface under the burner / candle is heatproof
- If burner / candle jar has any signs of wear i.e. cracks, chips - do not use
